Pure vs Sample Caffeine.
Caffeine from different sources, namely from a chemist versus an extraction method from instant coffee shows major differences in the final substance. Whereas attempts to isolate caffeine from a typical Nescafe instant coffee drink on the right hand side results in poor quality with many impurities. The pure substance on the left is white and forms a web structure stretching across the bottom of the test-tube, like branches of a winter tree.

I couldn’t really concentrate on my chemistry revision so I let my mind drift to doodling characters based on my copycat skills of the GIR design from Invader Zim. I really need to finish watching the cartoon.
